Abstract

Traveling sustainably has grown more and more important in places of cultural significance, like Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.  Millions of tourists visit Mathura each year because of its religious and spiritual significance.  This study looks into how hotels in Mathura might promote eco-friendly travel habits.  The study identifies environmentally friendly methods adopted by hotels, evaluates the difficulties in implementing sustainable tourism, investigates stakeholder perceptions, and provides practical strategies to improve sustainability without sacrificing guest satisfaction. It does this by combining field investigations, informal interviews with hotel staff and visitors, and document evaluation of government reports and scholarly research conducted after 2015.  The results show an increasing but unequal use of green techniques in hotels, hindered by a lack of infrastructure, unclear policies, and differing stakeholder understanding. Strategic suggestions for incorporating environmental, economic, and cultural sustainability into Mathura's hotel industry are included in the paper's conclusion.
